Being Earnest, Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Its forms are: Classical,
Tragi-Comedies, Romantic Comedies, Comedy of Humour, Comedy of Manners, Masque,
Frace etc.
Tragedy:
It a drama which ends sadly.
It deals mostly with tragic events.
It is concerned with the downfall of
the hero or protagonist.
Its examples are: Hamlet, King Lear,
Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet
Its forms are: Melodrama,
Shakespearean, Revenge, Heroic, etc.
Tragi-Comedy:
It is a piece of literature
containing elements of comedy and tragedy together.
It examples are: The Tempest, The
Merchant of Venice, The Winter’s Tale,
Soliloquy:
When a character is speaking one’s
thought aloud and other characters do not hear that.
Monologue:
It is an uninterrupted speech by one
person only.
The speaker speaks his thoughts
aloud or directs directly to other person.
