Awareness Campaign on PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students
The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections, helping them meet their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
Objective of the Scheme: The primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial support to meritorious students from poor families to assist with their higher education expenses. Scholarships are awarded based on the results of the Higher Secondary/Class 12th Board Examination.
Benefits of the Scheme:
Rate of Scholarship:
212,000 per annum at the Graduation level for the first three years of college and university courses.
220,000 per annum at the Postgraduate level.
220,000 per annum in the 4th and 5th year for students pursuing professional courses, in cases where the duration of the course is five years/integrated course.
Students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech, B.Engg. will receive scholarships up to graduation level only, i.e., 12,000 per annum for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year and 220,000 in the 4th year.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant must have a score of above 80 percentile in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12th of the 10+2 pattern or equivalent.
